Abstract

This study introduces mshEdgeGrayFT2, an edge-based image steganography approach that combines anInterval Type-2 Fuzzy Logic System (IT2FLS) with LSB embedding. Horizontal and vertical intensity variations betweenneighboring pixels are considered as inputs to the fuzzy system for determining appropriate edge regions for secret-dataembedding. Upper and lower membership functions are used to represent variations in the degree of membership, allowinguncertainty in local pixel differences to be considered during edge selection. The effectiveness of the method is examined atdifferent embedding levels using PSNR, MSE, and SSIM. The results are analyzed to study the trade-off between data-hidingcapacity and the visual quality of the resulting stego images.
