Abstract

The analysis of zero-truncated count data plays a vital role in various fields, suchas public health, ecology, manufacturing and social sciences.This work introduces aone-inflated extension of the zero-truncated binomial distribution, framed as a two component model. Some of the key statistical properties of the distribution, includingmoments, generating functions, skewness, kurtosis and index of dispersion are derived.Also characterization of the proposed distribution based on conditional distributionis presented. Different estimation strategies are discussed and a simulation study isconducted to assess the performance of the maximum likelihood estimators. Finally totest the compatibility of our model we test two real-life datasets.
