Abstract

This study presents a dynamical model describing the spread of corruption by incorporating the influence of anti-corruption education. The proposed model consists of six compartments, namely the susceptible, exposed, corrupt, imprisoned, reformed, and honest groups. The model assumes that corruption propagates analogously to an infectious disease. We analyze the local stability of the corruption-free and corruption-endemic fixed points and show that their stability depend on the basic reproduction number. To examine the effect of anti-corruption education on the reduction of corrupt individuals, numerical simulations are performed for both fixed states. The results demonstrate that continuous anti-corruption education can effectively reduce the number of corrupt individuals in the population.
